Lena Linderholm – joy of life, color and a touch of Provence in art

Lena Linderholm is a beloved Swedish artist, designer, and life inspirer who for decades has brightened homes and hearts with her vibrant motifs. Born in 1947 in Stockholm and raised in a creative environment, art quickly became a natural part of her everyday life.

After studying at Konstfack and the Friends of Handicraft, Lena developed an unmistakable artistic expression: colorful, warm, and full of life. Her work reflects a deep love for the simple and present – flowers, fruit, laid tables, and the soft light of everyday life. She reminds us that beauty can be found in daily moments, if we only pause to see it.

For many years, Lena shared her life with musician Gösta Linderholm. Together they created a world filled with art, music, and creativity – divided between their home in Sweden and their beloved Provence. The French spirit, sun-drenched gardens, and the golden glow of lemons still echo throughout her work today.

Lena’s art carries with it a warm philosophy of life: “Where people feel good and are happy, no wars are started.” It is a reminder of the power of joy, color, and togetherness – something that runs through both her paintings and her design.

Today, her artistic vision continues on mugs through ICONCUPS, where each design carries a piece of Lena’s world: playful, colorful, and full of joie de vivre. Or, as someone once described her style: Géniale.

What’s your favorite moment for a cup?

“Morning time is golden … and never more so than when I can wrap my hands around a mug filled with freshly brewed coffee with warm milk.

The aroma winds its way through the kitchen like a gentle hug, the colors on the table shine brighter, the roses in the vase sparkle a little extra, and the day opens up like a sunrise.

I love that quiet moment when everything is still possible – when the coffee carries both my longing and my joy.
